Sellette

Sellette is a piece made entirely of marquetry and embroidery on wood (walnut and chestnut).

27,000 beads, embroidered one by one by hand, trace the veins of an imaginary marble, transforming the surface of the wood into an illusionist mineral material.

Part of the tradition of faux marble, inherited from Antiquity, this work offers a contemporary reinterpretation.

Here, hand and machine work together, combining ancestral techniques and modern processes to create a unique piece, at the frontier between craftsmanship and art.
