Industrial Design
Founded in 1998 by designer Patrick Jouin, Patrick Jouin iD is a studio dedicated to industrial design in its broadest sense. It designs furniture and objects for manufacturers including Cassina, Kartell, Alessi, Pedrali, Fermob and Puiforcat, as well as for public spaces with JCDecaux, RATP and Grand Paris Express.
To design a chair that could be manufactured using as little material as possible, it was necessary to innovate in the design process itself and use cutting-edge virtual prototyping solutions: topological optimization, generative design, simulation, life cycle assessment, etc.
Ta.tamu is printed folded, a world first.
