Enamel workshop on lava
Lydia Belghitar is a lava enameller, designer and co-founder of Studio Ler in Saint-Nicolas-du-Pélem. After studying design and a career at IKEA, she created her workshop combining art and design crafts, transforming lava stone into unique contemporary pieces.
With the HONO TABLE, Studio Ler embarks on self-publishing for the first time to narrate the story of their preferred material: volcanic rock. Lydia Belghitar and Jessica Richard explore enameling techniques and variations of black, both matte and glossy, to evoke the volcanic eruptions from which the lava they utilize originates, transforming the material into an artistic and sensory manifesto.
